WHY HEALTH CARE MATTERS
With a population of more than 1.4 billion, ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every community remains a significant challenge in India. Geographical distance, limited awareness, affordability, social barriers and delayed care-seeking can make it difficult for people living in rural, remote and underserved areas to access timely and appropriate healthcare.Women, children, adolescent girls, elderly persons, persons with disabilities and economically vulnerable families can face greater barriers to accessing essential health information and services. Limited awareness of preventive healthcare, nutrition, hygiene and available public-health services can further increase the risk of avoidable health problems. These challenges highlight the importance of taking healthcare awareness and support closer to communities. Community-based health awareness, preventive screening, early identification, referral support and stronger linkages with existing healthcare services can help people recognise health concerns earlier and access appropriate care at the right time. Through SEVA HEALTH CONNECT, we work to bridge these last-mile gaps by empowering communities with health information, promoting preventive practices and helping vulnerable individuals and families connect with appropriate healthcare services.
OUR HEALTHCARE INITIATIVES
We work with underserved and vulnerable communities to improve health awareness, promote preventive healthcare, and strengthen access to essential public-health services. Our community-based approach focuses on women, children, adolescent girls, older persons and families who face barriers to healthcare. Through SEVA HEALTH CONNECT, we conduct community health-awareness activities, promote nutrition and healthy practices, create awareness about government health services and entitlements, and help people understand where and how to access appropriate healthcare. We also focus on adolescent girls’ health, menstrual hygiene, nutrition and wellbeing, maternal and child health, non-communicable disease awareness, elderly care and health-service navigation. Where health concerns are identified, we encourage appropriate consultation with qualified healthcare providers and support referral and follow-up. We work to connect communities with existing public-health facilities and frontline services rather than creating a parallel healthcare system.
OUR KEY INITIATIVES
We engage underserved communities through community-based health education and awareness activities that promote preventive healthcare, nutrition, hygiene and healthy practices. We help individuals and families understand common health risks, recognise early warning signs, adopt healthier practices and make informed decisions about when and where to seek appropriate care. We also create awareness about available public-health services and encourage timely care-seeking and appropriate referral.
We take primary health awareness and preventive health support closer to underserved communities through regular community outreach, household engagement, health education, basic screening, early identification and referral support. We help people understand available public-health services and connect with appropriate frontline workers and healthcare facilities, with follow-up to support continuity of care.
We facilitate community-level preventive health screening and awareness activities to support the early identification of potential health concerns among underserved populations. Individuals identified as requiring further assessment are guided towards appropriate healthcare providers and public-health facilities, with referral and follow-up support to encourage timely and continued care.
We promote the health and wellbeing of adolescent girls through community-based health education and awareness on menstrual health and hygiene, nutrition, anaemia prevention, personal hygiene and healthy practices. We encourage informed health-seeking behaviour and help girls and their families understand and access appropriate public-health services. Where health concerns are identified, we facilitate appropriate referral and follow-up to support timely care and continuity of support.
We support women, mothers and children through community-based health education and awareness focused on maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene, preventive care and timely care-seeking. We help families recognise important health needs and understand available public-health services, while facilitating appropriate referral and follow-up where further care or support is required.
We help underserved individuals and families understand and access appropriate public-health services and facilities. Based on identified needs, we support connection with relevant frontline health workers and healthcare facilities, facilitate appropriate referrals, and encourage follow-up to promote timely access to care and continuity of support.
Bridging the gap between underserved communities and existing government healthcare systems through community awareness, referrals and local coordination. By strengthening linkages with frontline health workers and public health facilities, we help improve awareness, access and utilisation of available government health services and schemes.
