WHY MENSTRUAL HEALTH
Menstrual health and hygiene is a basic human right, yet many underprivileged girls lack access to accurate information, hygienic menstrual products, clean sanitation facilities, and safe spaces to manage their periods with dignity. Due to poverty, social taboos, and lack of awareness, underprivileged girls often use unsafe materials during menstruation, leading to infections, health complications, and long-term reproductive issues. Fear, shame, and misinformation also force many girls to miss school or drop out entirely, limiting their education and future opportunities. Promoting menstrual health and hygiene helps girls stay healthy, attend school regularly, and build self-confidence. Awareness programs break myths, encourage open conversations, and empower girls to understand their bodies without fear or shame. When underprivileged girls are supported with menstrual education and hygiene resources, they are able to participate fully in daily life, pursue education, and grow with dignity. Investing in menstrual health is not just about hygiene—it is about gender equality, empowerment, and a healthier future for generations to come.
WHAT WE DO
SEVA ASMAKAM DHARMAH CHARITABLE TRUST is dedicated to improving the health, dignity, and confidence of underprivileged girls through menstrual health initiatives. We conduct educational workshops to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and break myths surrounding menstruation. Girls are provided with sanitary pads and hygiene kits to manage their periods safely and with dignity. Health camps and sanitation programs promote cleanliness, proper disposal methods, and reduce risks of infections. Mentorship and life skills sessions help girls build confidence and independence. We also engage families and communities to create supportive environments, ensuring girls stay healthy, attend school regularly, and grow empowered.
