WHY SKILLING
India stands at a critical juncture where its large and youthful population can become a powerful driver of economic growth and social transformation. This demographic advantage, however, can only be realized if young people are equipped with relevant skills, employability training, and clear pathways to sustainable livelihoods. Unfortunately, millions of underprivileged youth continue to face barriers such as poverty, lack of education, limited exposure, and unemployment. Seva Asmakam Dharmah Charitable Trust focuses on empowering disadvantaged youth—girls and boys alike—through structured skill development, vocational training, and livelihood support. By providing practical skills, career guidance, and opportunities for dignified work, the Trust channels the energy and aspirations of young people toward self-reliance, community development, and nation building. These efforts contribute to inclusive economic growth and help transform potential into productivity.
WHAT WE DO
Through its Livelihood and Skill Development Programme, Seva Asmakam Dharmah Charitable Trust works to bridge the gap between underprivileged youth and emerging employment opportunities. The programme focuses on unemployed and underemployed young women and men from marginalized communities, equipping them with market-relevant skills that match the needs of high-growth sectors.By addressing gaps in education, training, and employability, the initiative enables youth to transition from vulnerability to self-reliance. Participants receive practical training, career guidance, and exposure to livelihood pathways that help them integrate into the formal workforce or pursue sustainable self-employment. The programme complements the Government of India’s Skill India Mission and contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), ensuring inclusive participation in the nation’s development journey.
